Paper Prints

Carl utilizes thicker, high quality paper for all unframed prints on display at the gallery and at shows and fairs. The paper and ink quality ensures an archival preservation of the image. If a traditional paper print is desired, simply select the “Artist Print” option when purchasing online. Carl personally creates this prints up to the 16×24 size. Larger prints are printed locally at a professional lab.

All framed prints at our Anchorage gallery are framed at Obeidi’s Fine Art Gallery/Alaska Art and Frame, where Carl has been having his prints framed since 2002. Mention Carl sent you and receive 10% off your custom framing job!

All paper prints are Open Edition Prints.

Metal Prints

One of our more popular print media is the “Metal” print. The metal prints are created by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. Because the image is infused into the surface and not on it, your images will take on an almost magical luminescence. The prints are particularly radiant when displayed under appropriate light. The surface is scratch-resistant and waterproof, so it can be cleaned easily – just avoid direct sunlight. It is important to note, however, that corners on metal prints can easily be dented when dropped – so be careful when handling.

The size of the print will determine what wall-mount option is provided. Float Mount hangers are attached to the back of the print, and float the print with a foam core layer 1/2-inch off the wall when hung. Larger prints will have either a wooden hanger with wire on the back, or metal hanger with hardware and bumpon.

All metal prints are Open Edition Prints.

Lumachrome Prints

When selecting your print options online, you will see a “Lumachrome Museum Plus.” This is our highest-end print, which we have available only online or at the gallery. It is not available at fairs or shows.

With these prints, dyes are infused into a transparent layer and suspended between a white poly background and an Acrylic front surface, facemounted using an adhesive layer and assembled in a clean room to ensure no dust intrudes into the final product. We choose a Low Reflection P99 UV Acrylic surface to reduce glare impact from direct and side lighting. The Lumachrome prints provide an incredible resolution, clarity, and vibrancy with a seemingly 3D image quality to your photo that can appear backlit and holographic. This is due to atransparency layer that is infused with iridium particles and is encapsulated in a layer suspended between the white poly surface and Acrylic.

There are two mounting styles we use, which are dependent upon size. The Museum Wall Mount ncludes 1/8" Acrylic Facemount with a light weight 3/4" floating frame adhered to the white print backing for light weight and a low profile. For larger prints, we use a Gallery Ultra backing, which Includes 1/8" Acrylic Facemount with a 6mm or 12mm Comatex backing and an HD 1.375" ROMA back mounted floating frame.

All Lumachrome prints are Limited Edition Prints, in editions of 15. These prints are rated archival to 120 years.
