Ermine Pause

An ermine (short-tailed weasel) in winter colors pauses briefly while skittering around in a patch of alder in our backyard on the Anchorage hillside. Incredibly cute and elusive, they are also fierce predators. Ermine are also a challenge to photograph because of their speed and constant movement. Photo © copyright by Carl Johnson.
